Before submitting a GVM application, it is critical to verify the Approval Number on the vehicle’s VIN plate. If it is not listed, check the Register of Approved Vehicles (RAV) to confirm the Original Equipment (OE) Vehicle Type Approval (VTA).
Following the recent ADR 97/98 changes, some Ironman 4x4 RAV SSM approvals now show a "Suspended" status. However, suspended does not mean revoked.
This applies only to Second Stage Manufacture (Pre-Registration) approvals —vehicles uploaded to RAV before March 1, 2025, remain eligible for Post-Registration GVM upgrades. Engineers can still certify using the existing RAV approval and LS design codes.
State regulators are also working with engineers to ensure clear guidance on 'suspended' approvals and how to proceed.
The attached document is regularly updated as new approvals are granted.
Always refer to the latest version in the GVM Portal under the News tab and ensure a printed copy is stored.
